Modulator chains

A single Source feeding parallel Modulator branches can become bass, lead, and harmony from one pulse, each with its own personality.

Modulators change who the signal thinks it is. A melody signal can pass through a bass Modulator and adopt a bass role. One Source, several personalities, one shared pulse.

The move

  1. Place a single Source with a melody preset.
  2. Place a splitter (round-robin or weighted) downstream.
  3. Branch 1: signal goes through a modulator set to bass role, then to a vibe node.
  4. Branch 2: signal goes through a modulator set to harmony role with guide-tone focus, then to a vibe node.
  5. Branch 3: keep the original melody role and route straight to a vibe node.
  6. Listen. One Source now drives three voices in different registers, each with its own contour and harmonic focus.

Why this is different from three Sources

Three independent Sources can produce three independent rhythms. One Source feeding three Modulator branches produces three voices on the same pulse: different personalities, locked timing. Use Modulator chains for ensemble texture; use independent Sources for polyrhythm.
