Multi-voice from a single Source

A single Source feeding parallel Harmony branches produces three- or four-voice texture from one origin. Locked rhythmically, free harmonically.

Counterpoint traditionally requires writing each voice independently. Spatial composition lets you derive multiple voices from a single melodic source by sending the source through different harmony transforms in parallel.

The important shape is one source fan-out: branches can become separate roles, registers, or harmony intervals.

The move

  1. Place a Source with a melody preset.
  2. Connect it to a splitter (probability or weighted).
  3. Branch 1: harmony modifier octaveDown → vibe node. The bass voice.
  4. Branch 2: no modifier → vibe node. The lead voice.
  5. Branch 3: harmony modifier thirdAbove → vibe node. The harmony voice.
  6. Branch 4: harmony modifier fifthAbove → vibe node. The high voice.

Independence vs locked rhythm

These voices are not fully independent: they share their rhythm. They diverge only in pitch. For independent rhythms, route each branch through a different gate or a different modifier with a different timing. The technique scales from "voiced melody" (all branches locked) to "loose counterpoint" (each branch with its own gate) without changing the source.
